Delta Pulse 2 & FelezJoo Pulse Induction Metal Detectors
If you want a high-performance, deep-search metal detector without spending a fortune, building your own Pulse Induction (PI) detector is the best approach. Having built and tested this circuit years ago, it remains one of the most versatile designs available.
Project Highlights & Upgrades
Visual LED Bar Graph: Added an LM3914 10-LED bar graph display to give clear visual signal indications alongside audio feedback.
Cost vs. Performance: Commercial deep-search metal detectors cost a small fortune, but with good circuit-assembling skills, you can build a professional-grade unit at a fraction of the cost.

Coil winding is the most critical step in building a PI metal detector:
FET Protection Warning: Using too few turns with a heavy-gauge wire can draw excessive current and directly damage the output FET. Conversely, too many turns will severely reduce sensitivity or prevent the detector from working.
Recommended Wire: 26 SWG wire is the ideal choice for standard coil diameters.
Turn Count & Tapping: Aim for up to 30 turns. If you are unsure about the exact inductance, wind up to 40 turns and take taps every 5 turns. Experimenting with different tap selections allows you to fine-tune the coil for optimal performance and depth.
